01 / Bank & cashbook reconciliation

Do your bank and
cashbook agree?

Compare bank statements with accounting records, reduce manual matching and keep outstanding differences visible. Bring the balances, explanations and review decisions together in a reconciliation statement for each period.

  • Review balances and how imported records are interpreted
  • Match transactions and explain bank charges or missing entries
  • Carry open items into the next period while the earlier reconciliation is still open
  • Review ageing, approvals and the evidence behind sign-off

02 / POS & payment reconciliation

Do transactions, fees
and settlements agree?

Compare POS transaction reports, settlement batches and bank receipts. Keep fees, missing settlements and unmatched records visible with their supporting records. For wallet operations, compare your internal ledger with processor records and bank receipts in a three-source workflow.

  • Match transaction references and settlement identifiers
  • Compare gross amounts, fees and net settlement receipts
  • Group transactions that settle as a single bank credit
  • Review possible duplicates, reversals and unmatched receipts
  • Import NIBSS NIP session reports and match successful transfers by session ID
  • Use reports to support the next operational decision
Start with exported POS or payment-provider reports, NIBSS NIP inward or outward session reports and bank statements. Unsuccessful NIP transfers are excluded from matching and counted in the import notes. We’ll confirm the fields and mapping for your provider during setup.
“Brillrec has made our reconciliation process so much easier. Our team spends less time matching transactions and more time investigating the exceptions that need our attention.”

03 / Investment operations

Do holdings, trades
and cash agree?

Compare investment records with custodian or broker records, then follow related cash movements into bank reconciliations. Review holdings and trades separately, with the security, quantity, value and settlement context your team needs.

Positions / Holdings

What agrees with the custodian?

Compare your register with custodian records by security and quantity. Keep unmatched positions and quantity differences visible for review.

Transactions / Trades

Does the booked trade agree?

Compare your trade register with broker or custodian transactions. Review security, buy or sell direction, quantity, dates and consideration.

Treasury bills

Check face value and amortised value using available cost, date and rate information. Review maturity flags against the expected proceeds.

Cash follow-through

Look for trade proceeds and matured-bill receipts in bank reconciliations, including accounts in other currencies using your configured monthly exchange rates. Inspect the rate and related bank record as part of the review; cash checks do not create bank matches.

Corporate actions

Flag quantity changes consistent with a bonus, split or consolidation for your team to investigate.

04 / Client-money reconciliation

Do client balances agree
with the money held?

Compare each client’s platform or customer-ledger balance with the balance held by a custodian, trustee or bank at the same date. Keep differences visible at client level, then bring the overall position together in a safeguarding statement.

Compare client balances

Match per-client balances by client identifier or name. Review balances that differ and clients recorded on only one side.

Review the overall position

See the credit balances owed to clients, the resources held and the resulting surplus or shortfall. Enter account balances or use the total from the per-client statement of money held, with the basis shown.

Take the statement into review

Export the safeguarding statement as PDF or CSV, with the requirement, resources and reconciling items together for your team’s review.

Client debit balances are shown separately rather than used to reduce the credit balances owed to other clients.
