Compare a trial balance with the month before and last year, and explain what moved.

01 / What is flagged

Movements past your limits.

Upload a trial balance in Reconciliation › Trial balances. Balance review compares it with the period before and the same period last year.
An account is flagged when it moves by at least the amount and the percentage set in Settings › Close › Balance review (₦1,000,000 and 10% unless you change them). New accounts, accounts that went to nil and accounts that changed sides are flagged too.

02 / Explaining and reviewing

The preparer explains each flagged account. With the Close AI switch on, Draft with AI writes a first draft from the account’s name and figures only, and the preparer edits it.
Prepare a journal starts a journal on the account when the explanation shows something to correct.
Someone else reviews each explanation, or sends it back with a note.

03 / Sign-off

When every flagged account is reviewed, the review is signed off. The month’s Review account balances task in Close is signed off with the same people, and the Account balances reviewed control operates.
