Open Controls › Controls register and choose Control library. The library holds controls written for Nigerian finance teams, grouped by area: cash and bank, payments and settlements, journals and the ledger, access and segregation, tax and statutory, revenue and e-invoicing, close and reporting.
Add the ones that apply, then edit each: owner, reviewer, frequency and the evidence it needs. Controls already in the register are counted, not listed again.
Admins and internal auditors create and edit controls. Managers can see the register. Owners and reviewers see their own controls on Today.
02 / Linking a control
Link it to the work that proves it.
Link a control to every bank account, every payment and POS account, every wallet account or a whole close checklist. Accounts and tasks added later are included automatically.
Single accounts and tasks can be chosen too, under Choose single….
A control with nothing linked says where to add the work, for example Add a bank account in Reconciliation › Accounts.
03 / Status
What each status means.

04 / Checks Brillrec runs
Segregation, access and old items.
Segregation of duties lists where one person prepared and signed off a reconciliation, prepared and reviewed a close task, or prepared and approved a journal, and accounts with the same person as preparer and reviewer. Explain each finding or change the assignment.
User access review is a quarterly Close task: a manager or admin confirms who keeps access and with which role, person by person, or keeps everyone not yet decided in one step. Each decision is recorded.
Long-outstanding items lists every open reconciling item over 30 days, oldest first. Settings › Controls sets when an item must have an explanation: after 60, 90, 120 or 180 days. The preparer explains each item and the action planned.
05 / Evidence pack and auditors
For your auditors.
Controls › Evidence pack: choose the period; all controls are included unless you choose some. The PDF has a summary of every control’s status, then a section for each control. The zip adds the evidence files attached to each task. (Professional and Business plans.)
The internal auditor role manages the register and the evidence pack and can read Reconciliation and Close, but never prepares, approves or signs off.
Guest auditors are invited from Controls › Auditors and see only the work you give them, read only, until their access ends. Everything they open and download is in the audit log.
