A workflow is a recurring piece of work, such as the month-end close, payroll or the monthly tax remittances. It has a checklist of tasks opened for every period.
Close › Templates holds ready-made workflows: month-end close, monthly tax and statutory remittances, year-end returns, payroll, e-invoicing, fund manager month-end and SEC returns, fintech settlement and CBN returns, and client month-end and company secretarial for accounting firms.
Guided set-up asks who prepares and reviews each task, then creates the workflow. You can change every task afterwards.
02 / Statutory dates
Due on the authority’s own date.
A statutory task is due on a day of the next month (PAYE by the 10th, VAT and withholding tax by the 21st), a number of days or months after the period ends, or a fixed date each year.
A date on a weekend or public holiday moves to the next working day, or the previous one where the authority says so, and the task shows why.
Each statutory task names the authority and the published source. A manager or admin confirms the dates taken from Brillrec’s templates before relying on them; who confirmed, and when, is kept.
Public holidays and working days are in Settings › Close › Working days & dates, where you can add your own.
03 / Preparing and reviewing
Two people on every task.
A task is prepared, then reviewed by someone else, with evidence attached and review notes answered.
Tasks linked to a reconciliation complete themselves when that reconciliation is signed off.
Requests to clients, banks and other departments go out by secure link; they don’t need to sign in, and the reply is filed on the task.
My tasks lists what you prepare and review. Daily and weekly reminders can be switched on in your account.
04 / Dashboard and analytics
Where the close stands.
Close › Dashboard shows the current close, overdue tasks and the deadline calendar; the timeline shows each checklist’s periods side by side.
Close › Analytics shows how each close went over time: duration, tasks on time, and late tasks by person and by workflow. (Professional and Business plans.)
